Electronic Deceleration System (EDS) and dynamic sheet control infeed oven

Vacuum-controlled transport moves the sheets into the oven—whether tinplate or aluminum—without causing surface or edge damage. Instead of the traditional magnetic brakes, the vacuum slows down the sheet as it enters the oven, resulting in a smoother and cleaner process. Magnetic brakes often attract iron and dust particles, which this vacuum method avoids.

The EDS system ensures slip-free transport and precise positioning of the sheets onto the oven wickets. The speed of the EDS belt can be controlled independently. When a sheet is detected, the EDS runs for a set distance (X mm), positioning the sheet accurately on the wicket. The vacuum pump and valve provide a strong grip on the belt, with adjustable vacuum levels based on the oven’s current position.
EAS
Electronic Acceleration System - E.A.S. for taking out sheets from oven
Vacuum-controlled transport moves the sheet from the oven to the stacker. A servo-driven vacuum belt at the oven’s outfeed accelerates the sheets to match the stacker’s line speed, ensuring smooth transitions without hard contact between the sheet and the moving belt. The system monitors the sheet movement and detects any issues, such as a sheet not being transported when the next wicket arrives. In such cases, the oven halts, and the outfeed belt is lowered to prevent damage, avoiding bent wickets caused by potential crashes.

The E.A.S. system, equipped with a servomotor, manages the transport of sheets from the oven’s outlet to the stacker. The vacuum mechanism ensures a firm grip on each sheet, while the E.A.S. system automatically adjusts to match the real-time speeds of both the oven and the stacker, optimizing overall efficiency.
Line control
Modern line control and drive system:

This upgrade ensures continuous support from us, as well as guaranteed supply from component manufacturers, minimizing downtime and keeping your system updated with the latest technology. With this upgrade, you receive the most advanced PLC controllers and drive technology.

The new line controls enable seamless synchronization of the entire sheet transport system through the main control unit, which includes a safety CPU and multiple servo drives. A virtual axis is created, providing a stable reference signal for all axes to align with, ensuring smooth and consistent transport. The system’s features allow individual modules to be controlled independently while maintaining overall control of the production line.

Examples of this include stopping the coater while the oven continues to operate or running the lacquering machine while the oven is at a standstill.

The synchronization of the entire transport system is managed within the main control panel.

The HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screens display comprehensive information about the entire production line, including synchronization and burner control (with integrated PID control). The HMI also logs burner data and alarms. A trend screen allows you to view the history of the entire line, and all data points are readily available for integration with MES/ERP systems.

For remote servicing, a VPN connection can be easily established, providing secure access to every component of the system.

Certified Burner Control

The conversion from a standard LTG burner control to a MultiBloc burner control provides significant benefits. Under optimal conditions, the burners can deliver approximately 10% more power while reducing gas consumption by 10 to 15%. All burners comply with NEN-EN 676 standards and are CE certified, ensuring safety and performance.

Each burner unit is equipped with an independent air pressure monitor as standard. This system offers enhanced control and safety, along with the ability to log data and communicate with other systems for seamless integration.

Double stacker vacuum and/or magnetic operated:

With this upgrade, we transform an existing restacker into a system capable of transporting sheets from the oven outfeed into one, two, or three different boxes without causing any damage to the sheets. This process is smooth from the oven outfeed to the point where the sheet is dropped. The transport can be configured using either vacuum belts or electromagnets.

The oven outfeed is equipped with a servo-driven vacuum belt that detects incoming sheets. The belt then accelerates to the required line speed of the double stacker, ensuring no contact between the sheet and the running belt. The double stacker detects the end of the sheet and precisely positions it at the drop point. Sheets are released onto the pallet without touching or scraping each other. If any slippage occurs, the drop position can easily be adjusted.

With the new line control system, safety is guaranteed and can be seamlessly integrated into both the outfeed and infeed systems. The system is also expandable, allowing additional boxes for stacking.

As shown in the accompanying drawing, the outfeed can be equipped with heavy-duty conveyors and a turntable, both designed by Veldkamp for maximum durability and performance.

Package straightener

This device allows you to align packages before feeding them into the feeder. It is pneumatically controlled by two cylinders and can be easily adjusted for different sheet sizes by rotating the handwheel located at the back. It is suitable for a wide range of sheet sizes, including scroll sheets.

In factory displacement of Oven

The entire tunnel oven can be moved without dismantling panels or burners. If the oven needs to be relocated, for instance, to install a printing machine between the feeder and coater, this can be achieved without full disassembly. A key advantage of this method is avoiding the complications associated with asbestos removal by keeping the panels and burners intact.
